“Last King of Carnival” is part of the Elements of Touch series by Visual Artist Grey Cross. It is a 56″ x 56″ wrapped canvas. It uses acrylics, grout, drywall tape, glass tiles and a traditional Mardi Gras mask as its primary mediums. Grey Cross’s “Elements of Touch” series embodies the artists need to create art that is not only seen but allows for the viewer to reach out and make the art real through touch. He believes that art hidden behind displays cases is only allowing the viewer to satisfy one of their senses but that art can satisfy all the senses.
